Jane and Rebecca have been waiting outside for several hours. They have tried knocking on the door, but got no answer. Then, just as Jane was about to bash the door down with her club, it opened and she tumbled to the ground.
"Come in, come in! My goodness, come in! I can’t believe you’ve all been waiting outside in the rain all this time! You could have knocked earlier, you know!"
Jane quickly recovered and stood to greet the Ninetales that kept them waiting in the rain. He looked at them with a grin and moved aside from the door to let them enter. (Was he waiting by the door the whole time?) Jane thought.
"My name is Callahan, or Calla, for short. I’m the guild registrar, you know. I’m quite good at it!"
Rebecca and Jane entered the stone building and followed the Ninetales into another room. The walls were wooden and painted a light blue. Rebecca was very eager to join a guild. She also liked how Callahan's place was decorated. There were shelves full of books and comfy-looking furniture.
"Oh, please allow me to take your belongings, they’re all wet! I’ll just hang them in front of the fireplace to dry as we go over the formalities."
Rebecca and Jane handed Callahan their wet belongings. They noticed the trail of water and mud they tracked into his house as they gave him their bags. Rebecca was a little embarrassed.
"And the paperwork, of course! There will be a lot of that, don’t you worry one bit!"
Callahan smiled as he mentioned paperwork. Jane tried to resist the urge to hurt him each time he grinned, it really annoyed her.
"You do have the forms that we’ve mailed you filled out, yes? That does always make things go much quicker here."
"Yes-yes, we do!" Rebecca removed the form from her bag and was shocked by the condition it was now in. "Uh.." she mumbled in a sad voice as Callahan snatched the forms from her.
"What’s this? These forms are soaking wet.. and the ink has run! Goodness, we’re in for a lot more paperwork than I could have hoped to dream of!"
Rebecca sat down and her eyes began to tear up. She really wanted to join a guild, but she felt it was her fault for getting the forms ruined.
"No matter, I have spare forms, and all the time in the world! I trust you have no pressing appointments yet, so I’ll write down your information now."
Rebecca was relieved. She and Jane followed Callahan to a desk where he sat and began writing out new forms using his tails. Jane examined Rebecca's expressions of amazement as she watched Callahan write. Because Rebecca was a Vulpix, she was probably daydreaming about becoming a Ninetales. After a while, Jane realized that Callahan had stopped writing and was grinning at them again. Jane really wanted to wipe that suspicious smirk off his face.
"With your help, of course."
Rebecca was still staring at Callahan's tails until Jane gently smacked her head to wake her from her daydream. "Huh? Su-sure!" Rebecca hastedly responded.
"Let’s get right down to it, shall we? My fastest time for entering a team in the official guild registrar is a touch under a few hours; let’s see if we can break the record!; All right now.. names, please?"
Rebecca answered first. "My name is Rebecca, this is my best friend Jane."
"Ahh.. what.. commo- er, good names you all have! How do you spell them?"
"My name is spelled R.E.B.E.C.C.A. and is pronounced Re-bek-ka"
Jane answered after Rebecca. "Jay-n, J.A.N.E."
"Interesting spelling! Are you foreign? French, perhaps?"
They looked clueless. Rebecca and Jane did not know what he meant by French. However, Rebecca smiled because she thought it sounded cute.
"Ah, no, forget it, France is just made up here, you know. Often used as comic relief. Er, just forget that. Moving on! What alias do you wish to give you lot of fellows? I hope it’s something good! I’ve been so bored by Pokemon insisting to use a name like “Team Awesome” or anything of the sort. More like “Team Mediocrity,” I like to think! I’m sure you have a much more original name."
Callahan started to grin again. Jane tried to avoid looking back at him. "Our team name... Oh! How about Mana! Does it sound cute?"
Jane looked at Rebecca. "Whatever you want, you asked me to join the guild with you."
"I knew you wouldn’t let me down! Is that the normal spelling, or do you insist on losing letters, or replacing them altogether entirely?"
"M.A.N.A. should be fine."
"And.. done. All right! Next topic!" Callahan took another sheet of paper and looked at Rebecca.
"You there, lad! You seem to be the leader of the team, here. Why don’t you tell me about yourself? Please make it interesting! I’m not filing a police report, you know. I don’t get paid for this, either. I do it for the stories people tell! Everyone has a story! And some are better than others. However, I do hope yours isn’t filled to the brim with angst and darkness, you know. We have enough of that as it is with the recent crises we’ve been going through!
If you insist on weaving a yarn of incredible sadness and general malaise, please make it good. I’ll discern the necessary details from your story and put it down in the log book here."
Rebecca thought about her inspiration for joining a guild. "Well, my mother passed away when I was young and my father was too distressed over her death to take care of me on his own. A close friend of both of my parents offered to help my father raise me, despite him and his wife having five children of their own. I heard stories about my mother as I grew up, but they never shared about how she died. Last year, I ran away from home to learn more about my mother by searching for the locations she wrote about in her journals. She was an explorer from Sapling Village and I found many of the things she wrote about interesting. I would tell you some of them, but I left what pages I have left back home.
My family were worried about me while I was gone, although I left a letter saying that I would return in a week or two. They feared that I would get into trouble and asked several 'mons to search for me. That was how Jane and me met-"
Jane briefly interrupted. "I was originally searching for my reckless brother. I bumped into one of Rebecca's 'sisters' in Alomomola City and was persuaded to find her."
"I got lost in a forest and fell into a very deep pit. Since I couldn't climb my way out, I had to follow a dark tunnel nearby, but I was too scared to explore it alone. I was lucky when Jane came across the same pit and fell in with me. She protected me and helped me learn more about my mother. Unfortunately, one of the 'mons that attacked us burned several pages from my mother's journal and we had to turn back now that many of the clues were ruined. I really enjoyed exploring the tunnel with Jane and wanted to do something else like that again. I convinced my family to allow me to join a guild and persuaded Jane to come along with me since she was going to Tao Village anyway to find her brother."
What an enchanting tale! I can see why you’d probably like to join the Rescuers Guild."
"Rescuers Guild? I'm not sure... I have heard good things about the Rescuers and Merchants guilds, but I would like us to join the Rogues guild, if its okay with Jane of course."
"Sure. Let's just hurry this up. It's already midnight."
"Very well, then."
Callahan turned towards Jane. "And you there, lad, what is your story? Your leader has done an excellent job of keeping me awake at this late hour, I hope you do the same!"
"Let's see... I have never met my parents, I grew up in Windswept Woods with two other orphaned 'mons, and my reckless brother got himself lost after performing a stupid stunt. Why he thought it would be a good idea to ride a Wingull in strong wind currents is beyond me, but when I find him... (He better hope to already be dead)."
"Very well, then! It seems I have all I need in order to register you here in our peaceful Tao Village! Just to make sure all the facts are correct, please look over them and sign your initials at the bottom! Don’t forget to sign off on your belongings! You wouldn’t believe how many people forget their accessories, only to leave them here with me! Please don’t do that, I have so many things cluttering up my attic in dusty old boxes."
Jane tried not to scream when they were given more paperwork. It was very late and both her and Rebecca were exhausted. Rebecca let out an adorable yawn as they filled out their information.
"What’s that, you say? There are only two of you? Of course I know that! I do have eyes, you know! What if, during your travels, you decide to recruit, or add on an extra member to your team? Would you really want them to fill out all this paperwork from scratch? There’s no problem with me for that, I assure you! This is just a convenient foresight! There is only room enough for four signatures on here, though, so please, no more members than that!"
Rebecca began imagining new teammates. "We can add two more members to our team? I'm so excited, I wonder what other 'mons we will encounter-"
"For now, it could be Darkrai if we don't hurry home and get some sleep. Besides, its too early to be thinking about new members. No one would want to join an inexperienced team (well, except for junior explorers and possibly my brother William...)."
"Well, now! I don’t think I’ll keep you here any longer, I have everything I need from you! I haven’t broken any records for time tonight, though. Your story took up quite a bit of it!" Callahan yawned. "Oh well! Time to conclude our business here!"
Jane and Rebecca followed Callahan to the front door and prepared to leave. As they turned to face the road, Rebecca remembered that they left their belongings inside. As she turned to knock on the door, Callahan opened it and tossed their stuff to them before slamming it shut and turning off his lights. "Now, let's go home and get some sleep. I need to have some energy stored in case I run into my idiot brother tomorrow." With bag in mouth, Rebecca nodded and responded to Jane with an okay before walking to Tao Village and finding a place to sleep at.

"Ahh, yes! The fabled new members of the team that stood out in the rain for hours before finally knocking! I remember them! Come in! It’s nice to see that you knocked immediately. Shows initiative!"
Celestina slowly entered Callahan's office and curiously examined the place. It looked quite different than the homes she was used to.
"Most of your information has already been filled out by them, but please, for posterity, tell me about yourself! How did you come to meet that raggedy bunch of Pokemon and become so interested in them that you decided to join? Do tell!"
She sat down by the fireplace and stretched her back before speaking. "We first met as enemies. When I fought against Jane, she knocked me out and tied me up to keep me from returning to my village. She kept asking me questions about my former clan, but there wasn't much I could say. After she explained her reasons for fighting us, I thought they were strange at first. But over time, I began to understand more about them and became intrigued after hearing some of their stories. By the time they got that fairy of theirs healed, there wasn't much reason for me to return to my clan. It was then that I decided to join this team and explore a new and mysterious world."
"Quite interesting!" Callahan said after Celestina's short story. "That seems to be everything I need!"
Celestina watched as Callahan placed the team documents onto a shelf. Now that she thought about it, something about this fox felt familiar. "I feel like I know you from somewhere..."
Callahan grinned as he opened the door outside. "I don't recall, but I've been around a long time." He wrapped his tails behind Celestina and pushed her out the door. "Go out now, and get some rest! I doubt you’ll live to regret your decisions!" He closed the door shut.
"We've met. I'm certain of it." she muttered to herself as she stretched again in the sunlight. "Now, what to do in this brand new world?" Celestina looked around until she saw a Riolu and Charmander snacking by the fountain. She laughed as she hatched a devious plan and lurked within the shadows behind the two Pokemon, waiting for an opportunity to scare them.

Description: She is often very cheerful and happy. Her fur coat is light brown with a cream colored underbelly with a reddish tint around her ears and tails. She wears a large red ribbon around her right ear. Her eye color is an ocean blue. She loves mystery and exploring new areas.
Family:
Father- Kotarou (Blaziken). He, Saito, Kenzo, and Sanaye used to be treasure hunters in their youth. He blames himself for Saito's death and abandoned Rebecca because he believed that she would have a better life without him.
Mother- Saito (Ninetales). She died some time after Rebecca's sixth birthday and her and Kotarou's anniversary. A Pokemon seeking revenge on Kotarou for something he did years ago accidentally killed Saito while looking for him. Rebecca treasures what remains of her mother's journal. Saito has a (currently unnamed) sister who is an Espeon.
Step-parents: Kenzo and Sanaye (Ninetales). They were close friends of Rebecca's parents. They currently have five children.
Step-sisters: From oldest to youngest, Kenzo and Sanaye's children are Sayuri, Reina, Mayuri, and Mei. Sayuri recently evolved into a Ninetales and resembles her mother. She behaves very maturely and dislikes it when her siblings act childish. Reina wears a blue flower on her head is is often shy. Mayuri is Rebecca's best friend at home and she is very loyal to her. Mayuri often scolds Rebecca for disobeying rules, while Rebecca scolds her for being to formal. Mei is a little older then Kazunari and enjoys playing games. A shiny Vulpix named Nobue Oka Go, or just Nobue, was also made part of the household because her parents were lost in a fire accident. Nobue is the same age as Rebecca, but her personality is very different. One of the reasons why Rebecca dislikes Nobue is that she thinks that she is special and noble because she looks differently and blames her parents deaths on Pokemon jealous of her 'god-like' appearance.

Personality: Lonely, quick to anger. (I think PK could be an example of her behaviour).
Description: She hates being alone and enjoys company, but is also quick to anger. She uses Bone Rush on anyone who annoys her. She acts tough and aggressive to hide her sorrow of losing her parents and her fears of losing another friend. Her body is dark shade of orange and she wears the cracked skull of her mother. The skull is tinted yellow and grey. Her mother's black ribbon is tied around her bone club, but she sometimes wears it when she is alone to feel comfort. She also has a wooden whistle that was carved by her father before he died. She sometimes uses this to amplify her Perish Song move. Her eyes are a light blue.
Family:
Parents: Currently unnamed female Cubone and male Lapras. Jane's mother escaped Prismatic Jungle with help from a Lapras, but was unable to avoid her pursuers when they found her in Windswept Woods. Before she met her fate, she left a black ribbon (momento of her imprisonment in Prismatic Jungle) and a wooden whistle (eventual plot device for Jane's father) alongside her egg and hid herself within the fog. Jane's father's fate is currently unknown.
Brothers: William the Charmander and John the Squirtle. William suddenly disappeared from the forest and caused Jane to travel to search for him, leading her to instead find Rebecca lost in a series of tunnels. John also left the forest to help find his missing brother and to write a book detailing the history of places such as Tao Village and Sapling Village.

Description: She often thinks of ways to trick people and steal things. She currently looks like an average Zorua wearing a light blue scarf. She has dark grey fur with red patterns and blue eyes.

History summary-
Rebecca lost her mother at a very young age and was raised by friends of her parents when her father abandoned her because of guilt and sorrow. Rebecca's foster family was rich and lived in Alomomola City. Unlike some of her step-sisters, Rebecca prefers treating servants as friends and also loves to explore a lot. Upon discovering a journal written by her mother in her youth, Rebecca ran away from home to learn more about her. Unfortunately, she got lost in a nearby woods and fell into a pit containing a vast system of tunnels. Rebecca was later rescued by a Cubone name Jane, who understood what it felt to lose a parent. Jane was looking for her missing brother, William, when Rebecca's foster-parents hired her to search for Rebecca. After both Jane and Rebecca escaped from the tunnels, Rebecca was impressed by Jane's courage and wanted them both to be best friends and to join a guild in Tao Village. Jane, unable to resist Rebecca's cute face, agreed and wondered if she might find her missing younger brother in Tao Village as well. Thus, the two joined the Rogues guild and sent a letter back to Rebecca's family to keep them from worrying.
Jane and Rebecca had a nice time in the Rogues guild, but their fun was interrupted when Shade captured Jasmine. They tried their best to save the Celebi, but failed to defeat Shade in time, resulting in Jasmine getting severely injured and taking half of the village into the past. Rebecca refused to believe that Jane and the other missing were gone forever and tried to cheer up other sad teams as she performed a few small missions and tasks for the guild. She was relieved after receiving a letter from Jane that explained that she and the other Pokemon were safe, but still trapped in the past until Jasmine was fully healed.
In the past, Jane met Ace and learned that he was a friend of her troublesome brother. She suggested that they work together to survive and protect Jasmine, but were unfortunately separated during the Zoroark attack on the village. Jane defended the village by placing traps with Stealth Rock and did not hesitate to confront the Puppet of the Moon and execute her, but got injured in the process. During the battle, she also knocked a young Zorua unconscious and planned to interrogate her after her wounds were healed.

The skull is tinted yellow and grey. Her mother's black ribbon is tied around her bone club, but she sometimes wears it when she is alone to feel comfort. She also has a wooden whistle that was carved by her father before he died. She sometimes uses this to amplify her Perish Song move. Her eyes are a light blue.
Family:
Parents: Currently unnamed female Cubone and male Lapras. Jane's mother escaped Prismatic Jungle with help from a Lapras, but was unable to avoid her pursuers when they found her in Windswept Woods. Before she met her fate, she left a black ribbon (momento of her imprisonment in Prismatic Jungle) and a wooden whistle (eventual plot device for Jane's father) alongside her egg and hid herself within the fog. Jane's father's fate is currently unknown.
Brothers: William the Charmander and John the Squirtle. William suddenly disappeared from the forest and caused Jane to travel to search for him, leading her to instead find Rebecca lost in a series of tunnels. John also left the forest to help find his missing brother and to write a book detailing the history of places such as Tao Village and Sapling Village.

History summary-
Rebecca lost her mother at a very young age and was raised by friends of her parents when her father abandoned her because of guilt and sorrow. Rebecca's foster family was rich and lived in Alomomola City. Unlike some of her step-sisters, Rebecca prefers treating servants as friends and also loves to explore a lot. Upon discovering a journal written by her mother in her youth, Rebecca ran away from home to learn more about her. Unfortunately, she got lost in a nearby woods and fell into a pit containing a vast system of tunnels. Rebecca was later rescued by a Cubone name Jane, who understood what it felt to lose a parent. Jane was looking for her missing brother, William, when Rebecca's foster-parents hired her to search for Rebecca. After both Jane and Rebecca escaped from the tunnels, Rebecca was impressed by Jane's courage and wanted them both to be best friends and to join a guild in Tao Village. Jane, unable to resist Rebecca's cute face, agreed and wondered if she might find her missing younger brother in Tao Village as well. Thus, the two joined the Rogues guild and sent a letter back to Rebecca's family to keep them from worrying.
Jane and Rebecca had a nice time in the Rogues guild, but their fun was interrupted when Shade captured Jasmine. They tried their best to save the Celebi, but failed to defeat Shade in time, resulting in Jasmine getting severely injured and taking half of the village into the past. Rebecca refused to believe that Jane and the other missing were gone forever and tried to cheer up other sad teams as she performed a few small missions and tasks for the guild. She was relieved after receiving a letter from Jane that explained that she and the other Pokemon were safe, but still trapped in the past until Jasmine was fully healed.
In the past, Jane met Ace and learned that he was a friend of her troublesome brother. She suggested that they work together to survive and protect Jasmine, but were unfortunately separated during the Zoroark attack on the village. Jane defended the village by placing traps with Stealth Rock and did not hesitate to confront the Puppet of the Moon and execute her, but got injured in the process. During the battle, she also knocked a young Zorua unconscious and planned to interrogate her after her wounds were healed.
